Introduction
From time to time there will be introduced in this space commentary regarding the oil & gas industry and the issues it is facing.
In the present political environment, there is a concerted effort to promote alternative fuel sources in order to remedy the effect on the atmosphere of burning fossil fuels. While there may be merit to reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the science on “global warming” is debatable. What is not subject to debate at this time is that solar and windpower cannot be expected to satisfy the energy needs of the United States. With the advent of staged fracturing treatment in wells drilled horizontally in various shale formations due to the successful pioneering efforts of George P. Mitchell, the United States has been made energy independent based on the cleanest of the fossil fuels, i. e. natural gas. There is abundant natural gas to fire the country’s electric power generation facilities, thereby keeping the electric grid functioning. In addition, there is sufficient oil to provide gasoline and diesel fuel for transportation and for petrochemical use. These facts are not subject to change in the foreseeable future. Hence, the oil & gas industry continues to enjoy a promising future, unless political interference impairs this outlook, and such interference would also negatively impact the country. This Firm is devoted to assisting upstream oil & gas companies accomplish their mission.
